Forged Through Fire

Resilience Under Pressure

True leadership is forged not in comfort, but in adversity. David's personal journey has been marked by challenges that would test anyone's resolve—and from which he emerged stronger.

Breaking Through: A Broken Neck

In the early 2000s, David suffered a broken neck—an injury that could have ended not just his career, but his mobility. Facing months of recovery and the very real possibility of permanent disability, he chose to fight. Through determination, expert medical care, and an unwavering spirit, he made a full recovery and returned stronger than before.

"When you've faced the possibility of never walking again, every challenge in the boardroom takes on a different perspective. You learn what truly matters."

Survival in the Wild: Water Buffalo Attack

A few years ago, while visiting Africa—the continent of his birth—David survived a water buffalo attack. Known as one of Africa's most dangerous animals, responsible for more deaths than any other large animal on the continent, this encounter was a stark reminder that life's most critical moments demand split-second decisions and absolute composure under pressure.

"Nature doesn't negotiate. In that moment, there's no time for fear—only action. Sometimes the best strategy is simply to survive and learn from the experience."

These experiences shaped a core philosophy: adversity isn't an obstacle—it's a teacher. The same resilience that enabled physical recovery drives the relentless pursuit of manufacturing excellence and the ability to lead teams through any challenge.

Life Beyond Work

David is a devoted father to three children, who continue to inspire his work ethic and commitment to building a better future. His personal journey has included the complexities of life—including two marriages—experiences that have deepened his understanding of relationships, communication, and the importance of resilience in all aspects of life.

These personal experiences inform his leadership style: empathetic, realistic, and focused on empowering others to overcome their own challenges.

Guiding Principles

Team Empowerment

Excellence is never achieved alone. The best solutions emerge when exceptional teams are empowered to innovate and take ownership.

Resilient Adaptation

Challenges are opportunities in disguise. Whether in manufacturing or life, the ability to adapt and recover defines long-term success.

Elegant Solutions

Complexity is easy. Simplicity is hard. The best manufacturing solutions are both sophisticated and beautifully simple.
